Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations offer huge amounts to local areas, through the services they provide, the wealth they generate, and the people they connect, engage and empower through trust.
Reasons to partner with us
From its original district nursing roots of 1897 and through various phases of institutional change, QVFR retains a focus on health, especially the health of local residents experiencing financial difficulties.
QVFR do this by funding organisations engaged in exciting health-focused projects, prioritising public health initiatives which may be difficult to fund or seem to be underfunded. We are actively seeking partners with funds or ‘in kind’ support to expand this work further.

Please note applications to the above are NOT accepted directly from members of the public and must be made via, for example, social workers, support and housing workers, GP practices and social prescribers.
To qualify for assistance individuals must currently be under the care of the medical profession due to sickness or disability (either physical or mental). Consideration will generally be given to anyone in receipt of benefits. Examples of grant items are flooring, bedding, clothing, white goods, aids and adaptations that promote good health.
Berkshire Nurses and Relief in Sickness Trust (BNRST) www.bnrst.org.uk is a long established charity which provides financial assistance in the form of grants to applicants under the care of the medical profession due to physical or mental ill health or disability. The Trust can help with items that are not available from statutory sources.
Grants are often made for items such as white goods, flooring, and essential furniture. We do not accept applications directly from the individual in need. The referral must be made by a member of a statutory or voluntary agency, health professional or similar. Grant funding is also available to Organisations who support people with health needs, for example funding for projects or specific events. BNRST’s area of benefit is the former and current Royal County of Berkshire which covers parts of South Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, Reading, Slough, Maidenhead, Wokingham and Bracknell.
